Acts 1 briefly describes the ascension of Christ in a cloud, a text which inseparably connects the restoration of the kingdom to Israel and the times and the seasons which the Father put in His own authority.

The ascension of Christ to sit upon his priestly throne is the key to understanding the ascension in a cloud and is also the reason the text connects the kingdom with the ascenscion. It is folly and impossible to separate the two subjects.

Acts chapter expands the apostolic teaching on this endtimes discussion by aligning it with the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets. Thus, the source is Moses, the Torah and the Prophets, i.e. the Tanach.

These facts leads one to a discussion of Luke 21 where the coming of Christ in the clouds, the coming of the kingdom, and the fall of the temple are spoken of in the same major eschatological event.
