Decided to fly to east across South Africa and was stunned by what I saw above my wings as well as below. The rugged beauty of the mountains in Lesotho was truly something to behold. So many colorful mesas. On my way to the east coast, I was treated to thunder storms with plenty of cloud-to-cloud lightning action. I landed without incident and thought to check satellite imagery to see how accurate the area was. I'm kinda confused. Current images show King Shaka Airport as decommissioned, with hundreds of cars parked on the runway, yet there's passenger data for 2020. Was it just shut down this year?
